Perisher Summer Maintenance Package

Asphalt mill and fill across resort roads and carparks at Perisher, Smiggin Holes and the Ski Tube, delivered inside the summer maintenance window before the resort reopened for winter.

Alpine pavements take a beating that most roads never see: freeze-thaw cycles, snow chains, graders clearing snow, then a summer of heavy visitor traffic. The timing on this package had to be executed precisely against both the weather and the public, with every shift planned to a forecast and re-planned when the forecast changed.

Around 1,300 tonnes over an eight-week program. Site establishment, profiling, clean-up, base compaction, proof roll, bituminous spraying, asphalt placement, compaction and testing by our own crew; haulage from plant timed to the hour because the nearest asphalt plant is a long way down the mountain.
